Helping Hands is a weekday ministry for special needs adults under The Special Needs Ministry of First Baptist Concord. It has been an active part of FBC for 20 years! Our participants partake in various jobs and tasks for First Baptist Concord as well as other churches and businesses in the 865 community.
Some of our duties consist of mail-outs, assembling newsletters, bringing cheer to residents at local nursing homes, working at KARM and replenishing supplies in both the First Baptist Concord and Cedar Springs Worship Centers. When our members are not serving the church or community, they are working to improve or maintain life skills.
Helping Hands also has a connection with Concord Christian School. Members form relationships with Elementary, Middle and High school students who have similar interests. It allows both the members and students to gain self- confidence and work on specific skills.
This ministry provides wonderful fellowship for the participants! It gives them a great way to serve the Lord, teaches them cooperative skills, and teaches them to care for one another. It gives our group a sense of self-worth and value by allowing others to see all that they can accomplish. We love to celebrate all accomplishments both large and small!
The Helping Hands ministry is for adult individuals with special needs who are 22 years of age or older. Individuals must not require a one on one and be able to follow simple directions. We serve those who are not involved in other ongoing community programs. Family interviews are held as spaces become available. Space is limited and we maintain a waiting list, however you never know what God’s plan is. If you would like more information, please fill out our form below.
