The First Baptist Concord Residency Program is a 1-year program designed to designed to equip, train, and develop the next generation of leaders in the church. Residents will be provided the opportunity to serve in specific Ministry Areas alongside Ministry Leaders and Pastors. They will be challenged in their faith, receive hands-on ministry experience, and be intentionally developed as a leader.
Residents will spend ~26 hours/week in ministry area. The other time will be spent in weekly teaching and coaching from Concord pastors and staff members who are experts in their areas of ministry.
Because of the demands of school and of the Concord Internship Program, concurrent employment opportunities must be coordinated with the Multiplication Pastor to ensure the Residency Program takes priority.
The First Baptist Concord Internship Program is designed to equip, train, and develop the next generation of leaders in the church. Interns will be challenged in their faith, receive hands-on ministry experience, and be intentionally developed as a leader.
Each intern will be placed in a ministry area with a Ministry Supervisor. The Ministry Supervisor will oversee the intern’s day-to-day work and help establish the intern’s job description.
Through the Concord Internship Program, we want to equip, train, and develop the next generation of leaders in the church. Each intern will gain hands-on ministry experience while serving in their ministry area. In addition to this, we will offer a regular cadence of development for the internship program as a whole. This will take place in a group setting where they will read selected books and articles, hear from church and community leaders, and discuss what they are learning during their internship. Our goal is for the Internship Program not only to benefit the church, but for the internship program to benefit the participants as well.
Internships will comprise of a total of 10-15 hours per week based upon ministry area preference. Each intern must be present at Sunday church (8:00am – 12:30pm), any week night responsibilities, ministry-specific meetings, and office time. Each ministry area can outline additional requirements on the intern’s schedule. Additionally interns will take part in a regular development meeting and a regular one- on-one meeting with their Ministry Supervisor.
However, as with any minister, interns are always “on call” and must be flexible in adjusting time off depending upon the needs of the church or emergencies.
Because of the demands of school and of the Concord Internship Program, concurrent employment opportunities must be coordinated with the Multiplication Pastor to ensure the Internship Program takes priority.
